![]() ![]() Sir you should be checking your email daily or else things like this will happen to you. To top things off, phone receptionist was very short, you could tell she didn't want to be on the phone helping customers. Never received a phone call to the number on file. This is the 1st thing I ever sent back to Milwaukee after thousands $ spent over the years. I don't use email much and only used my address to create an account. Emails were sent but I was never told to check inbox and spam folders regularly. I checked my mailbox daily for a month and a half but no package. They assured me it was safe to send it in and wouldn't cost me anything. I was hesitant as the battery worked still, just not fully and would indicate 3 bars max. Said it's gotta be sent in and evaluated by the tech. I gave them the serial over the phone and they ran it through the system. They verbally told me it will either get replaced or returned back to me if denied. I was worried about being charged shipping, not having my property destroyed! I don't have all the answers, buti share what I do know when I can(except things that the company doesn't make public knowledge through either official documentation or by customers being made aware of through service interactions)īefore shipping, I specifically asked them what happens if the claim is denied. They will use whatever contact method you gave them when you signed over your product for service, such as email or phone number. Very rarely you do have products with no service path, and will occasionally have the tool just sent back to you.ĭepending on where you live(possible example, outside of the USA) your service center might have different timelines for how long the contact period may be. They will give the customer a timeframe to respond to the contact to try and find a solution to the warranty discrepancy (usually the tool or battery being out of date or showing some signs of excessive damage) and will usually offer several options(such as but not always including) either a general repair cost, a replacement tool, or a different product if no other options are possible. The comment about their attempt at contact is also Milwaukee policy. Milwaukee policy is to never return 9.0 batteries as they are a danger to the customer(regardless of how heavily they're used) There was a massive recall(2017) for them for a period of time where they would take them back, and shortly after ceased production of the model( ). M18 9.0 batteries have a dangerous design flaw that causes them to overheat and melt/catch fire. This is usually correct(unless the tool is out of warranty, then there is a charge that must've filed before you can get your replacement).
